Sam Tunney joins as Head of Operations

We're thrilled to announce that Sam Tunney has joined as Head of Operations. Sam will be responsible for the overall operations of LEAD Network, providing leadership and management to our staff and volunteers and ensuring that the Foundation functions properly.

She says, "I am proud to join the LEAD Network as its first Head of Operations. I fully support the Network's ambition and vision and feel privileged to join a team where my personal beliefs are in harmony with the organisation's values and culture. I am passionate about D&I and believe gender equality is critical for economic growth and business resilience. I intend to harness my experience, skills, talents, and importantly passion to maximise the Network's capacity and capability, to meet its vision for growth and continued success".

Sam has over 30 years of experience leading organisations, teams, and functions. She is highly skilled at driving complex change programmes and has successfully designed and implemented solutions in different business contexts. Sam is experienced in relationship and stakeholder management and has performed various roles during her career, so she joins us with the breadth of experience needed to thrive in this role.

She has led, championed, and advocated for diversity and inclusion for decades. As a former CEO and Executive level leader, she has seen and experienced, first-hand, the challenges that women can face in the workplace. She is a firm believer in the transformative effect of investing in people and is looking forward to starting her new role.

Sam qualified as Chartered Company Secretary, has an MBA, Masters level leadership and management qualifications, and is currently studying to be an executive coach and mentor.
