Unilever renews its commitment to further accelerate gender parity
On June 1, 2022 Alan Jope, CEO, Unilever renewed the LEAD Network CEO Pledge demonstrating the commitment to further accelerate gender parity and to prioritise inclusion in the value chain of the European retail and consumer goods sector.
“Women’s equality is the single greatest unlock for thriving societies and economic growth, and it’s something which I’m determined to achieve at Unilever. The good news is that we have gender parity among our managers, globally. But we know there is much more work to do in ensuring women are represented at every level of our business, and across our global value chain." said Jope, "Together with our expert partners, like LEAD Network, we will continue to recruit, retain, and develop female talent to drive progress further and faster in our business and in the wider industry.”
Alan Jope was accompanied by Hanneke Faber, President Global Foods and Refreshment and Fatma Tek, Ice Cream Innovation Director, when signing the CEO Pledge. On behalf of all the members of the LEAD Network, we thank them and the Unilever team for their commitment in driving forward our mission to advance women in consumer goods and retail.
The LEAD Network CEO Pledge aims for a significant increase in female representation and director level and above and building a plan to achieve gender parity over the next decade. It is renewed every three years.
